DEATH AT RAETIHI
MRS. H. A. WARD The death of Mrs. Harriette Ann Ward, wife of Mr. T. S. Ward, of Valley Road, Raetihi, occurred on Saturday last, after a brief illness. Mrs. Ward was born at Marton 51 years ago. and -was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Armstrong, who were among the first settlers of that town. She resided at Marton practically the whole of her life prior to her coming to this district about nine years ago, when she married* Mr. Ward. During her residence here Mrs. Ward made many friends owing to her genial disposition, and she was esteemed by all with whom she came in contact. She was an ardent church worker, and fulfilled the duties of organist both at Marton and later at St. Mary’s Church, Raetihi. She leaves a husband. two step-sons and one stepdaughter.
