TE AWAMUTU RESULTS

SMITH-CLARKE SHIELD (From Our Resident Reporter .) TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. The holders of the Smith-Clark Shield, R. Ross, R. Laurie, W. J. North and R. Metcalfe (skip), registered their fourth win at Te Awamutu on Saturday afternoon, when they withstood a challenge from a Cambridge team, L. Webber, V. G. Boulton, D. Lowe and J. Lowe (skip). The game proved an even one throughout, the scores on the 20th head being 16 all. % On the last head Metcalfe’s team notched one point, thus running out winners. The previous teams to be beaten were:—R. Pilkington (Hamilton). Littleproud (Huntly), and Len. Jackson (Frankton). The next challenge will probably come from Chapman (Hamilton East), who recently won the South Auckland bowling centre tournament.
