RUSSELL EN FETE

MOONLIGHT EXCURSION Russell was en fete on Friday night, when the launch-owners had a busy time conveying many holiday-makers down the harbour to the famous fishing grounds. The new launches, built in Auckland for Mr. Jack Williams and Mr. A. E. Fuller, were put into requisition, and qach launch was packed with its full complement of passengers for the moonlight excursion. Tom Bracken was right when no described the Bay of Islands as the Bay of Beauty. It was a perfect moonlight night, and the harbour was looking its best. The excursionists were able to obtain a view of the delightful club-house for deep sea anglers, which has been erected at Otehei Bay. Surprise was expressed at the size of the denizens of the deep which could be safely landed on rod and line.
