TAKANINI TENNIS CLUB

QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE A very successful dance was held in the Tak'anini Parish Hall on Saturday night. The proceeds are to be devoted to furthering the candidature of the Country Queen in the carnival which is at present being held to raise funds for the newly-formed tennis club. There was a large attendance of residents of the district, and also a number of visitors. All spent a i er> enjoyable evening, dancing to the music supplied by Messrs. Hammond and Ballard. A couple of extras were played by Mr. Hassey. The duties of master of ceremonies were carried out by Mr. Bell. Spot waltzes were indulged in and added gaiety to the gathering. The women's committee dispensed a dainty supper.
