NEW LAUNCH BURNED
FIRE ON THE MANUKAU MEMBER OF CREW INJURED Fire completely destroyed a new launch which was cruising on the Manukau Harbour between Titirangi and Cornwallis about 1.30 p.m. yesterday. Two young Onehunga men, Messrs. Evans and Whitcombe, owners of the boat, were on board and had to take to the dinghy after vainly attempting to suppress the outbreak. Whitcombe was badly burned about a hand and arm, and was attended to by a Mr. Scott, of Langholme.
