NAPIER’S NEW POST OFFICE
PROMISED FOR NEXT YEAR (Special to THE SUN.) NAPIER, Wednesday. A definite promise has been given Mr. J. Mason, M.P. for Napier, that the building of the new post office will be commenced before March 31 next The announcement is causing considerable satisfaction in Napier, where the agitation for the new building has been in progress for the past decade. A site has been acquired at the corner of Dickens Street and Hastings Street, which is one of the most central situations in the town, and money is already voted by Parliament for the work. At the present time the various branches of the Post and Telegraph Department are housed in about half a dozen buildings in different parts of the town, causing inconvenience to the public transacting business and creating difficulties for the executive officers in the matter of management. The new building will incorporate all the P* iacbes in the one structure* ,
