NORTHCOTE BOROUGH

IMPROVEMENT WORKS At the Northcote Borough Council last night it was decided to accept the tender of Messrs. H. Bray and Company, Onehunga, for improvements to Belle Vue Avenue. It was decided to lay a new 4in water-main for the full length of the avenue, on the south side, from Queen Street to Waimana Avenue. The main is to be purchased locally in order to obviate any delay in the work.

Preliminary steps were initiated to raise a loan of £2,740 for completion of the Queen Street paving contract, being 10 per cent, .additional to the amount authorised by poll. It was decided to sign the agreement in connection with the North Shore destructor.
