MINISTER AT OPOTIKI

RECEIVES DEPUTATIONS The Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams, received various deputations at Opotiki on Monday. Questions dealing with flood prevention in the town of Opotiki, bridging the TeWaiti and Otara Rivers, drainage problems and roading access received vei favourable consideration. In the evening Mr. Williams was entertained at a smoke concert, there being a representative gathering of public men. After visiting the High School on Tuesday morning the Minister left by car for the Motu River, from whence he will journey by horseback via Cape Runaway, to his home at Waiapu. On his -way Mr. Williams will inspect works in connection with the construction of the East Coast Road.
