HOURS TOO LONG

MORE SPORT FOR KING’S SCHOOL Because he recognises the disadvantages of overwork and excessive nerve strain, the headmaster of King's School, Remuera, the Rev. J. G. T. Castle, has decided to shorten the working hours of the boys during the hot weather of next year, and devote the extra time to field sports and swimming lessons. The boys received this announcement with a genteel but emphatic round of applause at the break-up yesterday, when the headmaster expressed the view that better students would result from moderately regulated working hours. “I thought it would suit you boys,” Mr. Castle added, with a smile for the young students.
