CRUISING CLUB’S RACE TO CORNWALLIS
Races for yachts and launches to Coinj wallis were sailed on Saturday under the direction of the Manukau Cruising Club. ! Five yachts, all reefed down in the face !of a fresh south-west breeze, faced the jstarter at 2.40 p.m. Sea Horse led the fleet over the line, with Champagne, Sea
Gnome. AVaiapu and Alystery next in that order. Waiapu soon blew her sail out and took in another reef to continue. All finished closely, with the exception of Alystery, which withdrew. The finishing times were.—Sea Horse, oh 2m ss:
Champagne. 5h 3m 225: Sea Gnome, oh 12m 30s: Waiapu. 5h 35m 335. On cor-
rection of times the placings were: Se; Gnome, 1: Sea Horse, 2; Champagne, ::.
Four launches got away to a good start at 2.5 S p.m. Although a heavy sea was running a keen race was witnessed. The result was: Alermaid, 4h 9m 255, 1: Wanderer. 4h 15m 15s, 2: Almara. 4h 29m 455, 3. Corrected times did not alter the result.
