Jewel Pointer for Hamilton
NOT STARTER IN CUP WILL GIVE EXHIBITION MILE Mr. R. T. Reid, president of the AVaikato Trotting Club, who is a real live wire in the interest of his club and the sport, send the following telegram to Air. M. Moodabe, owner of Jewel Pointer;
“My committee would greatly appreciate your action in permitting your great pacer Jewel Pointer to compete at Waikato meeting on Saturday.” Mr. Moodabe has replied as follows: “Relative to your committee’s request regarding Jewel Pointer competing at your I may say that after
consultation with my trainer. Jack Shaw, and giving the question due consideration. I find it would be impossible to start Jewel in the race. In order to help your club, whose interests I have at heart, I will send Jewel Pointer to Hamilton to give an exhibition run over a mile. Wishing your club every success and a prosperous meeting.” Mr. Moodabe’s sportsmanlike action will be appreciated not only by the club but by the public, who will be in attendance on Saturday.
