CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB

KEEN COMPETITION The second shoot for trophies presented by Messrs. J. Hislop and J. J. Kingston was fired on Saturday last at 600 and 700 yards, th© shoot at 800 and 900 being abandoned owing to the heavy wind. There was a good attendance in both grades and the competition was very keen. Conditions kept the scoring down to a little below the average for this pair of ranges, but the fact that only two points separated the first and sixth men in the seniors shows the closeness of the competition. In the A grade C. J. M. Clark counted out A. C. Watson for a win, his 46 at 700 being a good effort. S. Griffiths shot very solidly for his win in the B grade and gave his opponents no chance. The first round for the Laidlaw “knock-out” competition was completed. Results: A Grade.—C. J. M. Clark, 40, 46—56; A. C. Watson, 46, 40—S6; A. J. Pieterson, 44. 41—S5; R. C. Russell, 43, 41—S4; P.
