ANNUAL SALE OF WORK The Papakura Anglican Church held Its annual sale of work in the Paragon Theatre on Friday afternoon and in the evening. The stalls and the stage were beautifully decorated with nikau palms and dowers, chiefly roses. There were good attendances at both sessions and excellent business was reported. The stallholders were as follow: Work Stall: Mesdames Tasker and Bernasconl; sweet stall, Mesdames E. C. Foote and E. P. Hirst; produce stall, Mesdames Turner and Jellyman; jumble stall, Mesdames Mogford and Brendon, Sutton and Muir; cake stall, Mesdames R. Hope and T. C. Seaton; Christmas stall, Mesdames Longford and Clarke; ice-cream, etc., Miss Claire Wood; refreshment rooms, Mesdames J. Mills, Muir and Sutton. Two guessing cakes were donated by Mrs. Cosgrave. The weight of the large one was guessed by Mrs. (Dr.) Page, nearest guess, 81b Boz. The hidden number of the smaller one was drawn by Mrs. Bell. Mrs. W. A. Pavitt was the winner of the doll and pram. The large doll was won by Miss Barbara Smith. The crepe de chine set of ladies* clothing was won by Mrs. Gilman. The hand-painted cushion was by Mrs. Bernasconi. The ham fell to Mr. Fred Scott. Master Lloyd Kemott won the footstool; the weight of the sheep was guessed correctly by Messrs. Harvey and Bartell. viz., 561 b. The sale proved a very good financial success. After all expenses being paid a sum of a little over £7O will be available for church funds.
