ST. CELLA’S CONVENT

SUCCESSFUL GARDEN FETE A very successful garden fete was held in the school buildings and grounds of St. Celia’s Convent, Otahuhu, on Saturday afternoon. Stalls were erected in the school buildings, and did good business during the show and games were Indulged in by the youiy?sters on the greens. Much interest was displayed in the baby show. The following caught the judge’s eyes, and were awarded the coveted trophies: Under six months, Pat Haggie; under 12 months, Kenneth Evans; under two years, Jack Hayden. The Otahuhu Municipal Band, under the baton of Bandmaster Stuart, dispensed a much-appreciated musical programme.

The fete, which was arranged by the ladies of the parish, was for the purpose of augmenting the funds of the convent.
