FIRE AT NEW LYNN

HOUSE DESTROYED A five-roomed house in Liverpool Street, New Lynn was totally destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. The house, which was owned and occupied by Mr. Trethowen, a naval officer, has been built only three months. The Avondale Brigade was soon on the scene, but was unable to subdue the flames through lack of water. An adjoining house was scorched and several panes were broken. The house was insured for £750. No further details are available.
