“Bowlers are good citizens for two reasons,” said the Mayor, Mr. G. J. Wallace, at the official opening of the Timaru Bowling Club. “First, they play bowls so late that it is. too dark when they go home to notice the holes in the footpath, and secondly, they leave the green so happy that they have no desire to growl about the increased rates.
