PROMOTIONS FOR POSTAL OFFICERS

DEPARTMENTAL CHANGES Several promotions have been made in the Postal Department. Mr. T. C. Hobbs-Jones, supervisor of postmen at Auckland, has been promoted to be superintendent of mails at Christchurch. Mr. Hobbs-Jones is president of the Auckland Swimming Centre. Mr. V. S. Harris, postmaster, Frankton Junction railway, has been promoted to the position of superintendent of mails in Wellington.

Both the trans-Pacific mail boats will have new mail agents. Mr. W. E. Carter, traffic clerk, G.P.0., Auckland, has been appointed to the marine post office on the Aorangi, and Mr. M. W. W. Cumming, assistant superintendent of the parcels branch in Christchurch, has been appointed to the Niagara.
