PADLOCK BACK AT THE GAME

pADLOCK is a gelding by Hal A Zolock from Rawene, of whom little has been heard for some time. Last season he did not sport silk, while the previous year he was geared up at the races on three occasions for a first and a second. At Wellington in the spring of 1925 Mitchell’s horse was beaten by Buz Buz on the opening day, but won a twomile go on the concluding day. The season before Padlock was well in the limelight, accomplishing the hat trick. At Hawera he annexed the Kapuni Handicap, followed this up by winning the Poverty Bay big handicap, and from there proceeded to Hawke’s Bay, where he lifted the cup. The Marfawatu-owned and trained pacer is in the Mangere Handicap on Saturday and will make it interesting if he is back to form.
