MR. WENZL SCHOLLUM RETURNS “Australia is keen to buy New Zealand stock,” said Mr. Wenzl Scholium, the Auckland racehorse owner who returned to Auckland from Australia this morning on the Marama. Mr. Scholium had a most successful ! visit to Australia. With his horses ho got a win at Randwick in the mile event, three seconds, a third and a fourth. Royal Blood. True Blood, White Wings and Golden Autumn were taken across the Tasmart by Mr. Scholium. He has left Royal Blood in Sydney and Golden Autumn has been sold. “Australians like to see New Zealanders over there, and they never fail to make visitors feel at home,” remarked Mr. Scholium this morning. “A few of the Australian owners are talking of coming over to compete at our meetings, but nothing definite had been decided when I left. “There is always a big demand for good handicap horses in Australia, and the Australian owners are very keen to buy New Zealand stock, which is considered to be of a very high standard.”

SPECIAL HORSE TRAIN OVER FIFTY LEAVE TO-DAY The special horse train for Whangarei left Ellerslie this morning with 44 horses, and they were joined by several others from the surrounding district at Newmarket. The Ellerslie contingent comprised Carinthia, Whakarite, Tea Time, Wee Marble, Golden Ivrist, Ponticus, Brampton, Restaurant, Diamond Queen, Auriculus, Billikins, Scat, Miss Potoa, Rarakau, Taurimu, Awatere, Right and Left, Sleepy Sol, Gala Day, Luxurious, Piet, Bombarder, Golden Wedding, Dave, Master Arch, Queen Emerald, Odin, Respirator, Nassock, Serang, Llandudno, Winsome Boy, Amos, Scot Free, Creation, Baby Bun, Speechless, The Lover, Mosaic, Nancy Lee, Mosque, Papatu, Te Koroke and Te Tahi.
