NO RESTRICTIONS ON U.S. ATHLETIC TOURS

NEW ZEALAND’S POSITION

THE GIBBONS CASE Press Association. • WELLINGTON, To-day. Notice of motion was given at the meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association held last evening dealing with the separation of New Zealand from Australia and exempting both countries from the rule of preventing American athletes from undertaking tours occupying more than 21 days. The Wanganui delegates asked that the Auckland centre be requested to furnish an explanation of the disqualification of C. Gibbons at the New Zealand championship meeting held last February. The question was deferred until the referee, Mr. McVilly, who disqualified Gibbons, was in attendance.
