CLUB COMPETITIONS AT THE THAMES
(From Our Own Correspondent) THAMES, Sunday. The cup cricket competitions were resumed at Thames on Saturday, and the fine weather was responsible for a good crowd of interested Spectators. The City Club met Tararu, and lost by four runs on the first innings. City made 80 (Hill 20, Griffin 35, Gibson 12, Martin 10, being the double-figure scorers). Tararu compiled 90 (Shepherd 29, K. Dare 23, Hamerton 13). In the second innings City had four wickets down for 55 when time was called. High School won from Ramblers in a two-innings match by 48 runs. In High School’s first innings Mortimer made 14, Billens 11; and in the second innings J. Carroll 14, J. Moran 11. They were the only ones to reach the twofigure mark. Newlands (11) was the only Rambler player to score a double figure.
