TWO WELLINGTON PIONEERS DEAD

BOTH OVER 70 YEARS Press Association. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The deaths occurred to-day of two wel-known Wellington citizens. Mr. Liet Asher, of the Wellington Fire Police, died at his residence in Marion Street at the age of 72 years. He was born in Birmingham, and had lived in Wellington for 60 years. He leaves a widow, three sons, and one daughter. The second was that of Mr. Richard Tingey, who was born in London in 1851. and came to New Zealand in 1865. He was a Maori War veteran, and with his brother, Edward Tingey, was the founder of the Dominion-wide firm of Tingey and Co., painters and decorators.
