BROTHERS RUN OVER

UNUSUAL ACCIDENT BUS CRASHES INTO LORRY While two brothers, Robert Edward Powell and Thomas Leslie Powell were lying underneath a motor-lorry at the corner of Gillies and Epsom Avenues about 8.45 last evening, a motor-bus, striking the lorry, ran over them, inflicting severe injuries. The two men, who are aged 35 and 25 respectively, were draining benzine from the tank when a City Council motor-bus crashed into the rear of the truck, wrenching one wheel from the axle. Mr. R. E. Powell had several ribs fractured, his brother escaping with bruises of his head and legs. They were taken to the Auckland Hospital by -the St. John Ambulance, and are stated this morning to be progressing favourably. The front mudguard of the bus was slightly bent, the force of the impact being taken by the bumper.
