Maiden Stakes Australis, Flying Binge and Card Trick were favourites in the Maiden i Stakes. Australis caught the jump lout: and socti went to the front, there

Card Trick led into the straight from Australis and Stanchion, but Australis came through and won by two lengths from Card Trick, who beat stanchion by a length, with Thurville fourth, and Spearmiss next.
