THORNE—TONGE

Josephine Jane, the third daughter of M,r. and Mrs. T. Tonge, of Ponsonby, wore an attractive frock of

white crepe satin effectively combined with silver lace, when she was married at St. Patrick’s Cathedral last evening to Timothy John, the son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Thorne, of Newmarket. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Buxtqn and the bride was given away by her father. A charming veil of tulle fell in the form of a train from a chaplet of orange blossoms and she completed her toilette with a pretty bouquet of white flowers. Five dainty maids attended the bride, the Misses Doris Tonge and Brenda Swindley, as bridesmaids, and the little Misses Hilda Patterson, Nina Swindley and Joan Lewis as flower girls. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Foley as best man and Mr. T. Tonge as groomsman. The bridesmaids’ frocks were of i.ris mauve crepe de chine with inset panels of silver lace, while at each low waistline was caught an effective spray of mauve flowers. Dolly Varden 'hats trimmed with quaint little streamers of ribbon lent an additional charm to their toilettes, which were effectively finished with bouquets of sweet peas, roses and lilac. Frocks of powder blue, wistaria and lotus pink satin were worn by the flower girls, together with dainty little bandeaux of silver tissue. They each carried a pretty basket of flowers to tone with their frocks.
