SEVEN BRIDES

A DAY OF WEDDINGS J EFFRIES—NICHOLSON When Ivy Elizabeth, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Nicholson, of Otahuhu, was married last evening in St. Matthew's Church to Elgar, the only.son of Mr. and the late Mrs. F. Jeffries, of Otahuhu, she was attended by three bridesmaids and a dainty little train-bearer. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. B. W. Seton. The bride was given away by her father and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. C. Nicholson as -best man and Mr. T. S. Nicholson as groomsman. The bride wore a becoming frock of ivory satin marquise, with deep flounces of silver lace and pretty pearl trimming. Over one shoulder a long trail of silver flowers was gracefully arranged to accentuate the note of silver in her frock. Over this fell a handsome veil of Brussels net, lined with tulle and worked with true lovers’ knots in pearls and tiny sprays of orange blossoms, which was held in place by a coronet of silver tissue and orange blossoms. A beautiful shower bouquet of tinted spring flowers completed the bride’s toilette. Miss Mabel Smith attended as chief bridesmaid and was frocked in a dainty model of cyclamen silk taffeta with insets of silver lace and posy of apple-green and cyclamen with streamers of velvet ribbons. A dainty tulle headdress was worn to tone with the frock, and she carried a pretty bouquet of tinted sweet peas. Miss Maud Jeffries, sister bf the bridegroom, wore a dainty frock of moss-green silk taffeta, trimmed with insets of silver lace, and ribbon shoulder streamers held in place by a pretty posy of cyclamen shades. Her headdress was of tulle and a beautiful tinted shower bouqubt was carried. Miss Moreen McGehan also acted as maid, wearing a pretty frock of sunset pink taffeta, with tiny circles of roses and forget-me-nots, and shoulder streamers of velvet caught with a posy of rosebuds. A dainty * headdress and bouquet to match finished her toilette. Little Betty McCullough, godchild of the bride, acted as flower-girl and looked sweet in a frock of pleated ivory georgette, worn over a silver slip, with rosebud and diamante trimmings and a dainty Dutch bonnet of silver tissue with tulle streamers. Mr. Chas Nicholson, brother of the bride, noted as best man. Mr. Tom Nicholson and Mr. Albert Jeffries were groomsmen. The service, which was fuliy choral, was conducted by the Rev. C. B. W. Seton. A reception was held in the Masonic Hall, Belgium Street, where a large number of guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a smart frock of black georgette with trimmings of flesh-pink georgette and gold lace, and a pretty black crinoline hat with relief of georgette and flowers. She carried a dainty bouquet of autumn tints. The going-away frock of the bride was a chic model of delphinium blue San Toy, with smart cape effect, worn with grey fox furs and small crinoline hat of silver grey. Among the guests present were: Mrs. C. Jeffries, who wore a dainty frock of sapphire blue crepe de chine. Mrs. C. Nicholson, gown of black niarocain, with trimmings of ash-grey georgette. _ ...
