TRAINING TOWN BOYS FOR FARMING
COMMITTEE SET UP So many town boys are showing a desire for instruction in agriculture that the board of managers of the Seddon Memorial Technical College has set up an advisory committee to develop that side of the curriculum. It was decided yesterday that the | Agricultural Advisory Committee should consist of members of the board of managers, two representatives from the Auckland Provincial Farmers’ Union, two representatives from the Auckland Fruit Growers’ Association, two representatives from the Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Association, and two representatives from the Auckland Poultry Farmers’ Associa- | tion. The business for the next meeting of the committee is to include the consideration of a scheme for providing the area of land considered necessary in connection with a secondary school agriculture course. The principal of the college, Mr. J. Park, pointed out that in his opinion some assistance could be expected from the Education Department, and he felt.
i therefore, the board of managers i would be wiling to devote such sums i from its own funds as could be spared. The management of the practical side in connection with the agriculture course would be the main use which the board of mangers required from the committee.
