ANCIENT CANOE STERN POSTS FOR AUCKLAND MUSEUM

OIR JAME PARR, New Zealand High Commissioner and former Mayor of Auckland, is interesting himself in London on behalf of the Auckland Museum. Two old canoe sternposts, splendid examples of the art of the ancient Maori, which have been in possession of the Alliance Assurance Company for the last 30 years, have been presented to the High Commissioner, so that they might be returned to New Zealand. Sir James Parr is endeavouring to obtain full particulars as to their history.
