S.M. APPRECIATES GOOD SALESMANSHIP

WEDDING DEMONSTRATION (Special to THE SUN.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. An appreciation of good salesmanship was shown by Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., when he dismissed the charge against Frederick James Busing of using a dealer’s motor-car without being the holder of a licence to use it, and with using an unregistered car. The car had been used by the defendant at a wedding for the purpose of giving a demonstration to a prospective buyer. The police claimed that a wedding was not a bona-fide place to demonstrate a motor-car.

The Magistrate: It seems to be a mighty good place to give a demonstration.

In his evidence. Busing said that on one occasion his firm had taken a prospective buyer to a funeral for the purposes of a demonstration.
