WHANGAREI CYCLE CLUB
DONATION OF TROPHIES The Whangarei Cycle Club received a reply, at its meeting on Thursday, from E. Reynolds and Co., Auckland, advising that they were prepared to donate an Earl bicycle for the most consistent rider, or the rider securing the most points during the season. It was decided that the award of points for the bicycle be the same as for the Points Cup, with the exception that it be fastest unplaced, instead of actual fastest time. A reply was received from the Dunlop Rubber Company, regarding the solicited presentation of a trophy, and asking that, the club nominate the kind of trophy required. The firm is to be written to, requesting that they institute a Whangarei Dunlop annual road race to Da.rgaville and return. A proposition was endorsed that the committee inspect Hora Hora Park with a view to forming a cycle track, and if suitable, put forward an application to the borough council. Mr. B. Weir was appointed assistant handicapper for the Labour Day sports.
