TAUMARUNUI DRUIDS
LODGE NGAHOA REUNION e Over 150 guests assembled for the eighth annual reunion of Lodge Ngahoa, U.A.0.D., which took place in the Theatre Royal, delightfully decorated for the occasion. Arch-Druid Bro. E. Mather and Miss D. Bailey received the guests, and the evening’s proceedings commenced with the singing of the Druids’ Welcome Ode. Arch-Druid Bro. Mather, replying later to the toast of “Ngahoa Lodge,” stated that though the district had a shifting population, the lodge had a membership of 200, and the number was still growing. A lengthy toast list was honoured, and during its progress Mr. A. Reardon’s orchestra supplied excellent musical selections, and songs were rendered by Mrs. E. Pearson and Bro. H. Fitton. Bro. M. A. Allingham contributed a pianoforte solo and Bro. A. J. Richards a saxophone selection. An enjoyable dance was held, during the course of which Bro. J. E. Ward gave an interesting address on “Druidism.” Bro. W. Robson was master of ceremonies, and on behalf of the lodge presented Bros. L. Burkett and Ayres with a. pocket wallet each, on the eve of their departure for Australia. The evening’s proceedings concluded with “Auld Lang Syne.”
