ASKED FOR A JURY
THREE MONTHS FOR VAGRANT
(JEORGE ARNOLD, aged 41, has not dona any work lately, and he appeared for sentence at the Police Court to-day. Chief-Detective Cummings said that accused haid a criminal history in Australia and New Zealand. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, sentenced him to three months’ imprisonment. Arnold looked about him for a moment and then said he would prefer to be tried by a jury. ‘•Well, you can’t,” replied the magistrate. “He’s had experience in court work,” added Mr. Cummingrs as accused left the doc-k.
