ARTS AND CRAFTS CLUB

The Waihi Ladies’ Arts and Crafts Club brought a successful year’s work to a close on Thursday evening, with a bridge battle and exhibition of handicrafts at the home of the club's president, Mrs. J. Gilmour. A beautiful display of members’ work was on view including marquetry, plain and coloured leatherwork, pewter work, raffia and basketwork, and the quality of the goods reflected great credit on both teachers and pupils alike, all of whom are amateurs. After supper, Mrs. Gilmour - was presented by the members with a bedroom clods: and toilet accessories, to mark their appreciation of her many kindnesses during the year and the keen interest that she had shown in the club’s work.
