TRANSPORT APPEALS

AUCKLAND CASES FOR HEARING

Eight appeals are set down for hearing before the Transport Appeal Board, which opened a two-day sittings in Auckland this morning. An appeal from the Mount Eden Suburban Social Transit Club, against a refusal to grant a service between Queen Street and Mount Albert Hoad, Mount Roskill, was struck out, there being no appearance. Appeals will be taken to-morrow from the Passenger Transport Co., relating to the granting to A. J. Markey of a licence to run to Panmure Road and Bucklands Beach; to the granting of the Onehunga-Otahuhu service under the restriction that the service must not run past Onehunga; and to the refusal of the No. 1 authority to grant permission to run from Commerce Street, Auckland, to Lake Road, Ellerslie. L. M. G. Grives will also object to the city tramways running a service past the hospital over Grafton Bridge. The other case for hearing is an objection by John Collet to the cancellation of his licence to run to Bucklands Beach, and the granting of a licence to A. J. Markey.
