POLICE FAREWELLS

PRESENTATIONS MADE There was another large assembly of members of the Police Force at the Central Station on Saturday evening when presentations were made to Sergeant D. Calwell, who is leaving for V.'aihi, Sergeant Miller, who lia.s been transferred to the Queen’s Wharf Station, and to Constable Miller, who has been transferred to Te Kuiti. Suit-Inspector Frank Lewin, who made the presentations, spoke of the excellent service which had been rendered by the officers who were leaving the city and wished them, on behalf of their fellow officers, the best of luck. Sergeant Calwell, who has seen 20 years' service in Auckland, was presented with an inscribed clock and a silver teapot. Sergeant Miller received a case of pipes and a tobacco pouch, and Constable Miller was presented with a clock.
