CARRIER’S BANKRUPTCY
EXPENSE OF TYRES EFFECT OF BY-LAW (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON. To-day. There was not a quorum of creditors present at the examination in bankruptcy to-day of Alfred Hall, fanner and carrying contractor, Taupiri, whose schedule showed a deficiency of £ 111 8s Id. Bankrupt's statement was that after he had spent £ 190 on retyrlng his trucks a by-law was passed requiring pneumatic tyres, and he was unable to afford the expense of the change over, and lost contracts. He had paid £1,600 in instalments on the two trucks, but then fell into arrears and surrendered them under the hire-purchase agreement. He was now working for wages.
