MAN MENACED WITH REVOLVER
FENCING DISPUTE CAUSES ILL-FEELING BETWEEN FARMERS (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, To-day. How one farmer, angry about some fencing dispute with his neighbour, presented a revolver at Him, was revealed yesterday in the Magistrate's Court before Mr. R. V/. Watson, S.M. Edmund Charles Batt, a successful farmer of Tiriraukawa, was charged with: (1) unlawfully carrying a revolver and (2) with presenting the revolver at Thomas W. Muir. The evidence disclosed that ill-feeling existed between both farmers in connection with the repairing of the boundary fence between the properties, and that on September 10 the accused hacl presented a revolver at Muir. The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges, and as he was an old and respected resident of the district, the Magistrate inflicted a fine of £3, with costs. He also informed accused that for the charge of presenting a firearm, he Was liable to h fine of £IOO, or three months’ imprisonment.
