BIG FIELD ENGAGED SOUTHERNERS’ STRONG HAND Twenty-five three-year-olds remain in the list for the Great Northern Trotting Derby which comes up for decision on the opening day of the Auckland spring fixture. This .number wall be greatly reduced by that date; still there will be a good field, which will include possibles and impossibles. Owing to lack of racing and training facilities, Auckland representatives will not. have a chance with the visiting- contingent, several of whom have recent racing form to recommend them. Daphne de Ora, Vestas and Donald have won races, Harvest Child and Monopole have raced well, while Enawah is reported to be in splendid condition.
