LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONFERENCE SOON
CITY TO MEET LOCAL BODIES The Auckland City Council has agreed to meet representatives of other local bodies, on the new scheme of metropolitan government. The other local bodies had to hold their first conference to discuss the establishment of a scheme of government by a metropolitan board, without a representative from the city. Then they forwarded the council a note of the minutes of their first meeting, together with another request for the appointment of a delegate Last evening the council decided that it would hear what the other representatives had to say, if they met the council in committee on October 6.
