HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RUBBISH REMOVAL SCHEME The Hamilton Borough Council met on Wednesday, the Mayor, Mr. J. K. Fow, presiding. The engineer and inspector were asked to proceed with the preparation of a contract to provide for rubbish collections and the provision of suitable rubbish tins. It is proposed tp submit draft by-laws covering a compulsory scheme, and the question will bo brought up again in February next. It was decided to make available for the public a large borough reserve near the Waikato River at Hamilton East, and to ask the various sports bodies to notify the council whether they wish to obtain a lease of any part of the 20 odd acres. Considering that the volume of traffic did not warrant it, the council decided to instruct the inspector that officers were not necessary for points duty on Saturday mornings. Preliminary steps to secure the title to the newly-acquired Claudelands bush area, known as Jubilee Park, are being taken. The matter of a motor camping site
