GUN CLUB SHOOT The King- Country Sporting; Gun Club, recently formed under the direction of Mr. H. Gage, of Kaitieke, held its first quarterly shoot on the founder’s property, an ideal day’s sport resulting. The new club’s officers are as follow: Patrcns. Dr. Anderson. 51 r. David Barclay, Mr W. Ross; president. Mr. N. C. Barstow; club chairman, Mr. X. Dempsey, senr.; travelling chairman, Mr. G. Waldegrave. Over thirty competitors took part in the first shoot. The prize was a gold medal presented by Mr. Gage for best score and most points during the year. I. Rutherford, 1; S. Gibbons ar : ’ R. Dempsey tied for second place. ♦ iile C. Geary, H. Shiers and D. Todd took the remaining places. The most exciting shoot of the day was “The Cockles’ Bottle Match,” for which the first prize was a turkey presented by Mrs. Waldegrave. First T McKay (possible), H. Shires second! and T. Rutherford third. Ladies’ Shoot.—Mrs. F. Waldegrave 1; Miss Dempsey, 2; Mrs. R. ford, 3. Mr. and Mrs. Gage provided a dainty afternoon tea. The next shoot will take place on the property of the Kaitieke county chairman, Mr. T. Crocker, who will entertain the club at his homestead.
