DEVONPORT BAND’S ANNUAL REUNION
The annual reunion of the Devonport United Band was held in the Foresters’ Hall at Devonport. The president, Mr. Alex. Harvey, welcomed all the visitors, who included parents of the band boys and representatives of other bands. The programme was as follows: March, “St. Elmo,” band; song, Mr. S. Barr; recitation, Mrs. De Authreau; selection, “Maritana,” band; song, Miss Joyce Murray; humorous sketch, Mr. PerryTaylor; song, Miss Wrigg; Raratongan music and hula hula dance, Aloha Orchestra; song, Mr. H. Richard. A compliment was paid the bandmaster, Mr. A. W. Tatton, by the chairman, who said that Mr. Tatton’s self-sacrifice and patience were responsible for the high standard reached by the band.
