Round the Churches

The Rev. R. N. Duthie, of Kalyan, India, was the speaker at the Sunday afternoon meeting of the Young Men’s Christian Association. At the Methodist Central Mission the Rev. C.. G. Scrimgeour conducted the evening service, taking as his text “A Race With Death.” In the afternoon a special children’s service was held. The Associated Churches of Christ held services at Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road, Richmond, Onehunga, Avondale, Mount Albert and Devonport as usual. The morning and evening services at the Grange Road Baptist Church were conducted by the Rev. A. S. Wilson. A baptismal class is to be held on Thursday, when the pastor will give an address. An inspirational address was given by Mrs. Harris-Roberts last evening at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church. Other meetings are to be held on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The usual services were held at the First Church of Christian Scientists. A testimony meeting will be held on Wednesday night. Mr. V. C. Hudson, New Zealand Baptist College student, was the speaker at the morning service at the Royal Oak Baptist Church. In the evening Mr. C. H. Barton, of the New Zealand Training Institute was the preacher.
