CARLTON DEFEATS PRESS After two postponements the Press and Printers’ teams played against the Carlton Club on Saturday. Owing to the uncertainty of the weather only half the selected players attended. Carlton ws successful in all matches. Club competitions were also continued. Toy, Gollan, 19.\ This was one of the most exciting games seen on Ellerslie green for years. On the 21st head the scores were 15 all. Three • extra heads resulted in even scoring at 17 all. Therefore, three more heads were played, but still the scores were level at 19 all. On the 26th head it looked as if Gollan, who was lying 4 up, all near the jack, would win, but Crother ran into the head with his last bowl, shifting the jack, and leaving himself 1 up. Gollan tailed to alter the position with his lasit bowl. Crother will now play Gavey, and the winner will meet the winner of the match between Dickson and Wood-INTER-CLUB MATCHES Following are the results of inter-club matches played on Saturday, the members of the first-named clubs being mentioned first in each case:— Carlton v.
