Dead Heat All the Way
DOGS TIED TOGETHER! Bv far the closest course ever witnessed in Sydney was that between Tibby B. and Prince Charles in the first round of the Granville Puppy Stakes second division, at Liverpool, Sydnev last week. From the start until the hare made his way through the escapes they were unseparated—because it was impossible for them to get apart from each other. Evidently something went wrong with the mechanism of the slips, and Instead of freeing the dogs in the usual manner, they were jerked from the hands of the slipper and kept inseparable throughout the course. Until the dogs came opposite the public enclosure", enthusiasts knew nothing of the early mishap, and worked themselves up over the close race. The judge, to make matters even more realistic, did not realise what had happened until later, and galloped after the pair to decid© the course.
