CITY GUARDIAN’S LAPSE TOO MANY DECOY DUCKS The town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham, was fined 40s in the Police Court today, as the result of a day’s shooting in company with H. A. Chatfield and Bertram Xoakes. They pleaded guilty to a charge of using more than 25 decoy ducks within the area allowed. The Acclimatisation Society’s prosecutor said that the offence had been committed through the defendants shooting together from a punt instead of being separated. “Like good sportsmen, they had made statements to the ranger, and left the shooting ground when approached,” said the prosecutor.
