TE AWAMUTU BOWLING CLUB’S MEETING

NEW SEASON’S ACTIVITIES (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, Friday. The meeting of the executive of the Te Awamutu Bowling Club took place on Wednesday evening. Mr. R. Ross, president, was in the chair, and there were also present: Messrs. W. J. North, S. McMillan, G. O. Jourdain, R. L. Henderson, A. White, R. Metcalfe, J. B. Wilson, R. Noonan and the hon. secretary, Mr. F. Bowden. It was decided to open- the season on October 1. Efforts are to be made tc arrange a programme of inter-club matches, home-and-home, immediately, so that members will know the forthcoming matches in plenty of time. For the convenience of Wednesday players, an effort will be made to arrange for club matches, and Hamilton and Cambridge will be communicated with to this effect. An innovation was brought forward regarding the handicap competition, when it was suggested that the draw is made from the handicap as far as possible, thus for a start scratch men will play scratch men, and limit men will play limit men. This was a recommendation to the Match Committee. The president and Mr. J. B. Wilson were appointed a sub-committee to report to the next meeting on any improvements to the pavilion.
