THAMES LICENSING
POLICE COMPLAINTS A complaint in regard to the Park Hotel was made by Sergeant McDonnell before the Thames Licensing Committee yesterday. The sergeant, in evidence, stated that shortly after 10.30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, a man was seen coming out of the Park Hotel under the influence of liquor and carrying two bottles of drink. He explained that he had bought them the previous day and was carrying them around with him. Two more men also came out. The licensee denied having seen the men. Constable Smith gave corroborative evidence. The chairman of the committee, Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., thought the circumstances were suspicious and complimented the police on their keenness. There were no complaints of the other hotels of the district. Permanent transfers were granted as follows:—Salutation Hotel, Maude Kelly to William Jorn Kneebone; Post Office Hotel, Pete.r Ganley to Dennis Ganley; Puriri Hotel, Joseph Cox to George Henry Pearson.
