NEW SOUTH WALES STRIKES
ONE SETTLED STEEL-WORKERS STILL OUT By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Reed. 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Tuesday. The dispute involving employees on the harbour bridge has been settled. The men have resumed work. The strike at the Hoskins iron and steel works is still unsettled. The firm’s cast-iron pipe works have closed, as supplies are exhausted. One hundred and twenty men were paid off. The Minister of Labour and Industry has suggested that the parties concerned should allow the industrial commissioner, Mr. A. B. Piddington, to adjudicate on the matters in dispute, and abide by his and N.Z. The men employed in the construction of the harbour bridge demanded higher pay for -working at heights, and this being refused, a strike was declared.
