IRISH ELECTION
LABOUR VOTE SPLIT SUPPORTERS FOR COSGRAVE By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. vpHE President of the Irish Free State, Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, will leave Dublin to-day to open a whirlwind election campaign. He is determined, in spite of his weak state of health, to visit in six days as many centres as possible. Signs are not wanting that the most responsible elements in the Free State recognise that the Treaty and the Constitution are imperilled, and that minor difficulties must be sunk. Three of the Independent candidates have taken the Ministerial Party’s pledge, while the rest have scarcely less definitely ranged themselves behind Mr. Cosgrave, whom the Farmers’ Party also solidly supports. The Workers’ League Is dominated by Mr. James Larkin, -who has created difficulties for the party leader, Mr. W. Johnson, by nominating candidates for Dublin, Tipperary and Limerick, where the Labour vote will' be split. —-A. and N.Z.
